This photo of workers kneeling down as pastor Emmanuel Esezobor of Fire House Church, Abuja, stepped out of his car has got people talking.
What do you think about this?
“Hello‚ is this heaven?” the pastor was heard saying as he held the phone to his ear.His congregation began yelling in jubilation at this point and the pastor screams “heaven is online”. He ends off the phone call saying to the woman‚ “Your story has changed”.
“I have a woman here‚ what do you have to say about her?” the pastor speaks into his phone. “Ahh. Oh‚” he says‚ listening intently. “I should ask her who is Sibo‚” he says aloud.
"What else papa God?" the pastor asked on the phone moments later. He then listens again then relays another message to the woman on her knees‚ with her hands raised.
“God is telling me to ask you why he is showing a heart. He is saying we should pray for your children‚ two of them … He is saying one is epileptic the other one is asthmatic.”
“I have a direct channel, actually I have His number and I can call Him when need arises,” he said while responding to questions on a video doing rounds on social media yesterday on which he was prophesying on a congregant while on the phone. He addressed the person on the other end of the call as the ‘heaven’ and God – prophesying on a certain lady, telling her of her background.
“It is possible to talk to God, while would you doubt that I got a call from him? I actually have a direct line which I can call Him and get instructions on how to proceed. I got this when I was praying and I heard a voice telling me to call direct,” he said.
“I got instructions on the phone on what to do or say and that is what happened on Sunday. If the heavens spoke to Abraham why not us? You are of little faith and people will always have doubts while others are being delivered,” he said.
“I know people say whatever they want, some might feel it is a publicity stunt and it is all fine. We don’t do things for publicity; what will we get from that?” he queried. The preacher, who is in the process of forming a television channel, said he will actually launch a session titled ‘Heaven Online’.
“You will actually see more of this. We are hoping that we will be on TV this year and we will actually have a session called ‘Heaven Online’,” he said.
"Before this incident and that pastor — that church has done a lot of good throughout that community. [The church] helped people with bills, helped people find jobs, helped people get off drugs. There has been a lot of positive things done in this church," he said.According to the church's website, Simmons is the ninth pastor of the more than 80-year-old Jacob Chapel and he is also a fourth generation pastor and former public school teacher.
"Under Pastor Simmons' leadership, Jacob Chapel has literally fed the hungry, clothed the naked, ministered to those in prisons, and built houses for those without shelter. It is the message of the Cross, the death, the burial, and the resurrection of Christ from the grave which continues to fuel the fire that burns within this passionate preacher and teacher," the church said.In his new book I Need a Man published in 2016, Simmons offers a fresh, down-to-Earth perspective on the issues of godly manhood, mentoring, and identity.
"You cannot know who you are, nor can you discover what you were called to do in this world outside of the context of your Creator — attempting to define mankind outside of a biblical context is like trying to understand an iPhone without Steve Jobs' input," he said
"The more you burn the shrines the more version of the Bible I will tear, reverend father ebube monso arranged some useless boys to burn our shrines at ekwuluobia, that is why I tore the Bible again. This time around in a video clip."
“The government has been showing increasing interest in church affairs. Unfortunately, for us in RCCG, it might not be very helpful,” Adeboye said.
“For example, when I decided on what will be the pension of our pastors, what I decided is not done anywhere in the world. That somebody will retire and continue to earn full salaries all his lifetime.
This, I started, but government stepped in and made a law that we should be contributing to pension fund.
We have to obey and we started doing that. The result is that pastors don’t get as much as they were getting under our own previous arrangement. But, what can we do? We have to obey the law,” he disclosed.
“Now there are fresh laws. We have a rough idea of what the law is about.
Some people believe that RCCG is becoming too influential and we’re going to be more influential. When you get home, tell members to join a political party.
Join a party and become a card-carrying member of any party. Just join any party. We shall decide issues right from the ward level.
If you are not active at ward level, you’ll do what they plan and say at the top. Enrol in any party of your choice and have a card. When holding meetings at ward level to choose delegates, be there.
One Muslim in Ibadan said years ago that he didn’t know what’s wrong with Christians; that we help them to occupy political positions and refused to capitalise on our population. That’s going to change from now,” Adeboye stated.
“As for Ibori’s release, if not for my present condition, I would have done more than what a renowned politician in this state, said he planned to do.
I will dance naked in the market place if God had allowed me to be physically fit now.
I would have danced with my head on the floor and my legs in the air, concerning the release of a titan, because the man is a colossus, a rare breed. Leaders have come and gone. In my 56 years around Nigeria’s political history, I have not seen a man apart from Chief Obafemi Awolowo, who has built the lives of people the way Ibori has done.
Surely, every politician in Delta State is a product of Ibori’s humane leadership. Virtually all of them were nobody, I say this without apology, but, today, they are all men who are standing on their two feet and can be counted anytime in this state; both financially and otherwise.
I am not aware of any other ruler that has built the lives of people; Ibori has built the present core of leaders in this state.”
